The line
Twenty minutes, one tube.
The Copenhagen–Ringsted line opened on 31 May 2019: 60 kilometres of new double track from Copenhagen via Køge to Ringsted, electrified and built for passenger trains at up to 250 km/h — Banedanmark calls it Denmark’s first railway for high-speed trains. It cost DKK 11.4 billion, and it brought a new station: Køge Nord, about twenty minutes from Copenhagen H.
You know the station before you reach it: the tube you see from the motorway is its footbridge, 225 metres long, carrying you across to the platforms. From Køge Nord it is a short hop into town — the beach, the marina and the square.
